Our Team Biographies


Michele Andrews and Zoë

Michele and Zoë, a Golden Retriever, became a certified Therapy Partner team in 2006. They visit at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital. Michele works for Aviation and Missile Command and has volunteered for foreign medical mission trips and hurricane relief with her church.


Deanna Bayless and Millie

Deanna and Millie, a Blue Heeler, became a certified Therapy Partner team in 2002. They visit with pediatric patients at Huntsville Hospital for Women and Children. Deanna works as a Licensed Veterinary Medical Technician and is a volunteer certified Red Cross instructor to teach pet first aid. Deanna and her family live on a dairy farm.


Greg Boyett and Tide

Tide, an English Mastiff, and Greg work in the PAL reading program at Montview Elementary School. The team was certified in 2009.


Deanna Bayless and Mousse

Deanna and Mousse, a Labrador Retriever, work in the PAL reading program at Chapman Elementary School. Mousse graduated in  August 2008. Deanna began volunteering with Therapy Partners in 2002. This is Deanna’s third therapy dog.


Judy Carden and Sadie

Judy and Sadie, a Golden Retriever, became certified in 2003. They visit with patients at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital. Judy is on the staff at Therapy Partners, Inc. and also volunteers at the Community Free Clinic and for Historic Huntsville Foundation.


Kasia Dukes and Teddy

Kasia and Teddy, a Labrador Retriever/Coonhound, work in the PAL reading program at Lakewood Elementary School.  Teddy and Kasia graduated in August 2008. Teddy is a gentle giant who loves kids.


Tanya Flippo and Bryant

Tanya and Bryant work in the PAL reading program at Highlands Elementary School.  The team was certified in 2009.


Jeannie Gamble and Claire

Jeannie and Claire, a Golden Retriever, joined in 2007 and work at Hospice Family Care, the Caring House. Jeannie, a retired R.N., volunteers with numerous church activities and mission teams. Jeannie enjoys outdoor activities and travel. Claire accompanies the family on outings as often as possible.


Connie Gates and Katie

Connie and Katie, a Golden Retriever, visit at HOPE Place, a shelter for abused women and their children. Connie, a retired educator, is a co-founder of Therapy Partners, Inc. and was named Volunteer of the Year for 1997 in Huntsville. Katie was named the national 2007 Delta Society’s Beyond Limits Pet Partner of the year in 2007and was recognized on national television at the National Dog Show in Philadelphia.


Mary Graham and Becket

Becket, a shetland sheep dog or sheltie, and Mary work at West Mastin Lake Elementary School. The team was certified in 2009.


Patricia Haag and Madison

Madison, a beagle, and Patricia work at Huntsville-Madison County Senior Center. The team was certified in 2009.


Connie Hawie and A.J.

Connie and A.J., a Labrador Retriever, work with children in the grief and bereavement program at Hospice Family Care, the Caring House. Connie is a Registered Dietitian and works with dialysis patients. A.J. received rave reviews when he played the part of Sandy in a local production of Annie.


MariBeth Hill and Koda

Koda, an All American Tibetan Mastiff, and MariBeth are working at Windsor House, a long term care facility. The team was certified in 2009.


Jennifer Hooten and Lola

Jennifer and Lola, a Terrier mix, became certified in 2006 and visit with residents at Windsor House. Jennifer is a R.N. lives on a farm with her family and enjoys riding her three horses.


Darlene Kerr and Jenny

Darlene and Jenny, a Shetland Sheepdog, volunteer in the PAL program at Ridgecrest Elementary School. After retiring from obedience and agility competition, Jenny and Darlene became certified with Therapy Partners in 2004. During the summer break, they visit with seniors at the Huntsville Madison County Senior Center.


Darlene Kerr and Sunny

Darlene also has Sunny, another Shetland Sheepdog, and they visit with residents at Redstone Village. Sunny became certified in 2005. Darlene is retired from MICOM and has taught children’s music and enjoys playing as much golf as possible.


Carol Kimball and Chelsea

Carol and Chelsea, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, visit with children in the pediatric unit of Huntsville Hospital for Women and Children. Chelsea became certified in 2004. Carol breeds Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and plays hand bells at her church.


Carol Kimball and Jules

Jules is Carol's 3rd Caviler King Charles Spaniel to join Therapy Partners! Jules works at Crestwood Hospital in the Oncology Department. The team was certified in 2009.


Carol Kimball and Tori

Carol has another Caviler King Charles Spaniels, Tori, that became certified in 2005. Carol and Tori visit with children in the pediatric unit of Huntsville Hospital for Women and Children.


Linda Lee and Vally

Linda and Vally, a Terrier mix, began visiting with residents at Hearthstone Assisted Living after becoming certified in 2005. Linda, a retired educator, works for a brokerage firm and lives in the country where she and her husband, a Kind Hearts Behavior Center instructor, are known for their many animal rescues.


Andrea McCarley and Murphy

Andrea and Murphy, a Papillon, became certified in 2005 and visit with residents at Madison Village. Andrea works with her family’s local business and is an instructor with Kind Hearts Behavior Center.


Karin Moll and Abby

Karin and Abby, an All American Border Collie, are Ambassadors at Large. They graduated in November 2008.


Sue Morgan and Holly

Sue and Holly, a standard poodle, were certified in 2003. They currently work at Huntsville Hospital in Behavioral Health and Nephrology. Sue Morgan, RN, PhD, is a Clinical Nurse Specialist at Huntsville Hospital.


Cherié Orcutt and Abbey

Cherié and Abbey, a Wheaton Terrier, work in the PAL reading program at Rolling Hills Elementary School. Abbey graduated in August 2008 and is Cherie’s second Therapy dog. Cherié began volunteering with Therapy Partners in 1997.


Laura Randich and Mo

Mo, a Newfoundland, and Laura work at the Huntsville-Madison County Senior Center. The team was certified by Therapy Partners in 2009 and previously worked with "The Gift of Sunshine" in Pennsylvania beginning in 2004.


Stephanie Sherman and Abby

Stephanie and Abby, an All American Husky, will be working in the PAL reading program at East Clinton Elementary School. Stephanie and Abby graduated in November 2008.


Sue Slagle and Hobo

Sue and Hobo, a Pug mix, work in the PAL program at University Place Elementary School. Sue volunteered as a PAL escort before becoming certified with Hobo in 2006. Another passion of Sue’s is working with horseback riders preparing for the Special Olympics. Sue lives in the country and offers a safe haven for many animals.


Judy Smith and Chipper

Judy and Chipper, a Shih Tzu, visit at the Huntsville-Madison County Senior Center. They became certified in 2005. Judy, a retired educator, is training another Shih Tzu in hopes of becoming a team.
